Waxing & Hair Removal

Waxing results in the longest lasting hair removal, generally ranging from 3 to 6 weeks. The waxing technique actually pulls the hair out from the root.

Warm waxing hair removal products are applied directly to the skin with a spatula (wooden) type instrument, in the direction of the hair growth. A cloth strip is then placed over the wax. As the wax cools it hardens with hair lodged into the wax. The wax is then (quickly) pulled off the skin in the opposite direction of the hair growth. The hair removal is from below the surface of the skin.

A Brazilian bikini wax involves using a warm wax application for total hair removal from the pubic area, except a small area above the genitals. The procedure starts with trimming the pubic hair so the wax can get to the hair follicle. Then the wax is applied with a spatula type instrument in successive small areas. Small cloth strips are placed over the wax. When the wax hardens, the cloth strip is pulled away from the skin and the procedure is repeated in other pubic areas.
